Lexbridge is a specialist legal recruitment and talent advisory business, co-founded and led by Nigel Goldsworthy – a former City law firm partner and FTSE100 Head of Legal and Group Company Secretary – and established as part of Vester Group.

We work with in-house legal teams, law firms, PE-backed businesses and growth companies across the UK on the appointment of senior legal professionals. Our focus is on assignments where judgment, leadership and cultural fit are as important as technical legal competence.

Our Story

Lexbridge was established to address something the legal recruitment market has long lacked: genuine legal leadership at the heart of the hiring process.

Most recruitment firms approach legal hiring from the outside. Lexbridge approaches it from the inside, because our co-founder has spent more than 30 years there.

Lexbridge was founded to address a fundamental issue within the legal recruitment sector: a lack of genuine legal insight in the hiring process.

Too often, recruitment decisions are made without a full understanding of what success looks like within a legal team or at board level.

Our business is led by a senior lawyer with over three decades of experience across private practice and in-house leadership roles. Nigel Goldsworthy began his career at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer before becoming a partner at Hogan Lovells, advising on major transactions across multiple sectors and jurisdictions. He then moved in-house to senior leadership roles, most notably as Head of Legal and Group Company Secretary at Rolls-Royce plc, a FTSE100 global engineering business, where he built and led the company’s international legal function and supported the board across audit, risk, remuneration, nominations, safety and ethics committees.

Throughout his career, Nigel has personally recruited, mentored and developed lawyers at every level. He has been the decision-maker in senior legal hiring processes, briefing search firms, assessing shortlists, making appointments, and managing the long-term consequences of those decisions. He has also been a candidate, and a client of legal search firms.

That 360-degree perspective; from the boardroom, the GC’s office and the interview room, is what Lexbridge brings to every assignment.

We approach candidates directly and selectively, drawing on a network built over three decades at the highest levels of private practice and in-house legal leadership. Candidates receive honest, experience-based guidance – not what they want to hear, but what they need to know.

We do not fill roles. We make appointments. This distinction shapes how we work at every stage – and how we measure whether we have succeeded.
